Welcome to Willowtree Reflexology in Banbury; Complementary Therapies for health, relaxation and renewal
My name is Denise, I am a fully qualified (ITEC Level 3) and insured reflexologist based in Middleton Cheney, Banbury. I am a member of the Association of Reflexologists and studied at the London School of Reflexology under the highly regarded and inspirational teacher Louise Keet.
Additionally, I specialise in Spinal Reflexology and can structure a bespoke treatment designed to your individual needs. It is a unique and effective way to approach helping change and reduce symptom patterns and relax you.
The benefits of reflexology continue to amaze me! Working with clients and watching the positive changes and impact it has on their physical and mental wellbeing is both fulfilling and extremely rewarding.
My interest in the natural world and holistic therapy was the inspiration to follow a career in reflexology, incorporating both elements to create my business name ‘Willowtree Reflexology’. Willow bark has healing properties and has served as a herbal pain reliever and has been used holistically.
Reflexology is a technique of applying gentle pressure to the reflexes of the feet and hands. It is based on an ancient theory that these reflexes are like a body map and relate to every organ, gland and body part and bring about a state of deep relaxation, stimulating the body's own healing processes and encouraging the body to work to its fullest potential enabling body systems to rebalance.
My treatment is designed to relax, unwind, energise, invigorate and to bring about balance in the body. My whole aim is to give each individual client a ‘holistic hug’ and the space to focus on themselves. It is a wonderful way to support you through the stresses and strains placed upon you by everyday life restoring balance and wellbeing.
Reflexology is suitable for all ages, from baby to adult, and can be especially helpful for long-term and recurring conditions. Reflexology does not diagnose and does not cure though; as a complementary therapy it should not be considered an alternative to conventional medicine.
Reflexology is a wonderful way of maintaining your body's healthy balance and general wellbeing, reducing the stresses and tensions that come with busy lifestyles and giving us a space to reflect on the mind as well as the body.
Reflexology can induce a deep state of relaxation, which improves the effectiveness of the treatment. Relaxing helps relieve tension and aids circulation, increasing the flow of nutrients, oxygen and energy to all parts of the body.
While it is not a cure, Reflexology can be particularly helpful in managing many health conditions, especially constant or recurring ones that we might have come to accept over time as being a normal part of life.

How many treatments will I need?
Everyone is different and the response to Reflexology can be immediate or sometimes take longer than one appointment, but often benefits can be seen after 4-5 sessions. Following an initial consultation I will suggest the number of Reflexology sessions I think we should undertake.
What happens in a treatment?
Reflexology is performed entirely on the feet, ankles or hands. During the treatment the client lies on their back on a reclining chair, supported by pillows and covered with a soft blanket to keep them warm.
Does reflexology hurt?
You might find some areas feel sensitive to the touch, but Reflexology does not involve hard pressing in the way something like a sports massage might. As a therapist I will be aware of the status of your feet, how they feel, the temperature, etc.
I enjoy offering reflexology treatments from my home in Middleton Cheney, Banbury.
